Gayle Wollard

Gayle Wollard spent her over 35-year career in aviation with American Airlines. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Management Systems, she joined American in their Maintenance & Engineering division. Early in her career, she was one of a team of two that wrote the systems analysis to automate the Maintenance Operations Center’s scheduling system. Her broad career in the airline has taken her through many positions in both corporate and operations positions, spending the last 25 years of her career in leadership roles.

Her experience within the airline includes: Maintenance, Airport Operations (ramp, passenger, tower and international), Network Planning, Reservations, Customer Relations, Operations Analysis, International Security, Corporate Security (fraud prevention), Employee Safety (OSHA), Ground Safety, Safety Technology and Safety Management System.

Just prior to her retirement, Gayle was the Senior Manager over the SMS department for the entire American enterprise. In this role, she worked with all departments of the airline (Flight, Flight Service, Airport and Corporate) to gather pertinent data, analyze and discuss Risk Management into daily decision making.
